Langwitches.com
langwitches.org is a blogging site created by Silvia Tolisano (@langwitches). It is a website that is all about technology and teaching in the classroom. On her About page she writes, "Her passions include globally connected learning, technology integration, 21st Century skills and literacies, as well as digital storytelling." Under this super quote she has placed a graphic that says "Globally Connected Learning."
Just by looking at her About page, I can tell that she is all about tech! As I read about Silvia, I see that she was born in Germany, raised in Argentina, and currently resides in the USA. She has degrees in Spanish, as well as a Masters in Education with the concentration being Instructional Technology. She is an author. Not only to her blog, but also to Tech & Learning Advisor Blog, her book "Digital Storytelling Tools for Educators," and a founder of a project--that I will make you go to her page to see. Silvia's page has a Home, Twitter, Hub, Consulting, Contact, and a Rethink Professional Development page. |

Langwitches.com...a blog post
Now that you and I know a tad bit about who the author of this site is, I decided to take a look at a few blog posts. I looked at several. I decided to skip over the much newer ones and began to go back a few years. There was one called, "Hello, I am from your future."
This one was talking about how not much has changed from one blog post she did seven years ago to the one that we were reading. Instead of me making you click on the link to read all of it, which I think you should do anyway!!! And Instead of me typing out what I liked, here is a small snapshot into a piece of this blog:

This blog was a superb read, and I encourage you to get into it.
After going back even more, and even reading the one she referenced in the blog above, I settled on, "Top 10 Visual Infographics on Lanwitches."
In this post, I found this AMAZING KWL.

Growing up, I didn't exactly love this kind of work, but I feel like with this, the rationale is there. Students get to come to conclusions. There were so many more infographics that were more about technology in the classroom, but for me, this is the one that really stuck out.
What did I learn?
For me, besides the nice photos and reads, I really loved the layout of her site. I know she is using a professional site, and may be creating everything on her own (Not a pre-set up one.) I love all the side bars and "ads" she has for her own stuff. She has amazing descriptions on her pre-clicked posts.
Not only did I learn about different ways to incorporate technology into my classroom, but also how to better crate my webpage in the future.
