Like Keynote, I never use Pages...
Once again, I am a Microsoft woman through and through when it comes to writing and presentation. However, using the Apple Teacher site really helped me learn more about Pages. Like I had originally though, there is not that many differences between Word and Pages. Chances are, you have actually used Word before, so the iBook that they have on their site to use Pages may be helpful. Like most things Apple does, they have the same idea as something else, but changed it.
This makes it hard to navigate through Pages, but again, the iBook helps you see where they have stuck most of tools.
Like Microsoft Word, you can change font, color, size, format, and so many other things. I really don't see many changes at all in that fact. Because of this, I don't think I would really ever use it much simply because I already use MS Word, and prefer it!
However, Pages comes pre-installed on Macs, and this would be useful if you do not want to pay to have MS Word.
Overall, it is a great tool, but is just not different enough (Like Keynote is with PowerPoint) to make me want to really use it with/instead of Microsoft Word.
Apple Teacher itself was super useful for me though. I had to dig into their iBook and actually read to finish and pass the quiz because I am a Word person.
